Weight Loss Wednesday- Week 5

Another week bites the dust! Looking back, I don't think I did that bad this past week. I worked out 2 times. I was below my calorie count every day except one, when I only went over 34 calories. So when I hopped on the scale this morning, I was excepting to be down a little, maybe a pound. And the verdict is:

Yep...I'm actually up 0.2lbs from last week.

Now, I know that I ate quite a bit more junk food in the last week than I intended, but stayed below my calorie count each day except last Monday.

But, after thinking about it for a while, it finally hit me: WATER. I have not been carrying my water bottle with me. I have not remembered to log my water intake. From what I can remember, I was probably only drinking 4-6 cups of water most days. So today I have been doing better with water. Hopefully next week will reflect this.

I do want to tell you about my workouts. I went to Planet Fitness last Wednesday, as I let you guys know in last week's post. I did the same thing on Friday with my aunt. We did the 30 minute Express Workout, then clocked some time on the treadmill.

This time, I had an easier time on the machines for the express workout. I was more comfortable with how the machines worked and how much weight I needed for each. Last time I could only do about 7 crunches on the abdominal machine. This time I did 15!!!

After we did the Express Workout, we stopped by and tried 2 other machines in a nearby room. One machine is for your gluts and looks like this:

You put your belly/chest against the pad, hold the handles, and place one foot on the black pedal and push back. The tower is for the weights. When you are done with the reps on one leg, the pedal flips over so you can do the other leg. I LOVED this.

This machine, Hip Abductor/Adductor, was also in the same room:

You sit in the seat with your feet on the pedals inside of the pads that go against your thighs. Then you press your legs out. Somehow I could lift 80lbs doing this with no problem. Yet I cannot lift more than 10lbs doing a shoulder press. Go figure.

This week has been busy. I am on vacation this week, but sadly have not been able to work out once yet. I've been running errands, meeting with Sassy's teacher to discuss her progress, and the usual "mom" stuff. Then Monkey spiked a fever last night. I'm not sure if it is viral or an infection. The only symptoms are a high fever, cough, and clear runny nose. He has not been pulling his ears, but my girls used to get ear infections and the only symptom would be a sudden high fever, so who knows.

We're going to the ped in the morning to have him checked out. He's been so cuddly and needy today, which has ruined all my plans for productivity. I haven't minded too much because he has basically stopped co-sleeping and prefers his crib. Hopefully this next week is more productive and everyone will be healthier!

  2. Thanks! I actually went back to the gym tonight and did 30 minutes on the treadmill and the 30 minute Express Workout. And I discovered an entire circuit called 12 Minute Abs, which I might try out later this week, lol. Keep me posted about the weight training that you're going to be doing too!
